Jeffrey Hunt has been a registered U.S. patent attorney since 1994. He practices law with Moore Landrey LLP, a litigation boutique in Austin, Texas. His practice centers on litigation of patent infringement matters, preparation and prosecution of U.S. patent applications, counseling clients on strategies for developing commercially valuable patent portfolios, counseling on intellectual property strategies, and litigation of intellectual property matters involving misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information. Hunt is one of a small group of patent litigation attorneys who represent inventors and small companies as plaintiffs in patent infringement litigation on a contingency fee basis.
Mr. Hunt has successfully represented clients who owned commercially important, “difficult” patent applications, where issuance of patent rights was refused for many years before he became involved. He has twice obtained issuance of U.S. Letters Patent for such clients, who endured years of repeated rejections and mounting legal bills, using an original technique called “application forensic review”. Obtaining such difficult to obtain patents exemplifies the best of Mr. Hunt’s work. One patent, so obtained, protects exclusive rights in features shared by many camera cell phones. A second patent is directed to elements of popular gaming systems where player positions are tracked using a wireless device.
Mr. Hunt has written and/or prosecuted hundreds of U.S patent applications for diverse inventions, such as: coatings, adhesives, catalysts, chemical processes, materials, purification processes, waste handling, control systems, signs, displays, food service equipment, snow-removal equipment, cranes, boats, plumbing fixtures, appliances, medical equipment, imaging equipment, medical supplies, mining equipment, printing processes and inks, material handling equipment, excavators, water and wastewater purification equipment and processes, unit operations including flotation, separation and filtration, chains, bearings, power tools, sporting equipment, consumer goods, surveillance systems, sensors, network systems, biological processing equipment, and semiconductor processing methods.
Past clients include: General Electric Medical Systems, Emerson Electric Company, Dosho Shifferaw (Inventor of Bowflex® Home Gym), E-Watch Corporation, The Modern Group, Ltd., and Portable Innovations, Inc.
Mr. Hunt earned degrees from Vanderbilt University in law (J.D.), business administration (M.B.A.) and chemical engineering (B.E.).
He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent Office (Reg.No. 38,189) and is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas (Bar Card 24048971). Mr. Hunt is admitted to practice in the Federal Courts for the Eastern District of Texas.
